Role Summary – You will be the technical manager of a team of electrical engineers and technicians that leads the electrical characterization of vehicle electronics. You will collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure our electronics are designed to meet functional and performance requirements, develop scalable tools, processes, hardware, and software for characterization, validation, and manufacturing.

• Hire, lead, and mentor an expert team of electrical characterization engineers and technicians.
• Develop detailed characterization test plans for ECU programs in collaboration with reliability and design teams.
• Lead execution of test plans during design and validation phases.
• Own test coverage reports and test data analysis.
• Oversee engineers, technicians, and external partners performing bench‑level characterization at IC and PCBA levels.
• Provide early feedback to design engineers regarding design decisions and testability.
• Develop and present Design for Testability (DFT) reports for ECU designs.
• Coordinate test resources, own test schedules, and communicate status with upper management and cross‑functional teams.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of non‑compliance test results using data analysis to identify and address underlying issues.

Qualifications

• BS/MS or equivalent work experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in electronics characterization and validation testing.
• 5+ years of experience managing and leading engineering and technician teams.
• Proficiency with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and digital multimeters.
• Knowledge of automation tools to accelerate test execution and reporting.
• Experience in data analysis and report generation using Python.
• Extreme sense of ownership and responsibility for the overall quality and functionality of electronic components and systems developed by R|V Tech.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SQL.
• Experience with Databricks or similar data‑management environments.
• Experience with automated test equipment.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Irvine, California: $154,000 – $192,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for Palo Alto, California: $167,400 – $209,300 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
