Senior Bridge Engineering Project Manager

Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project's lifecycle.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single‑discipline engineering projects or large routine projects.
  • Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your staff.
  • Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance planning team throughout entire project's development.
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate or adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed‑to schedule.
  • Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice.
  • Perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure completion of documents on schedule.
  • Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable‑stayed), box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
  • Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
  • Review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
  • Mentor staff and support continued development.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • PMP certification.
  • SE preferred.
  • 15 years of bridge design experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Micro Station, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design.
  • Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
  • Experience working with junior staff.
  • Proficiency with seismic design and detailing of highway bridges.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational, listening and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 10 years related experience.
  • A minimum 5 years project management experience.
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example:
    Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus).
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.

Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $213,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles are eligible for limited benefits.)
