Senior Vice President, Plumbing Engineer - Buildings

WSP is seeking a Senior Vice President in the Plumbing Engineering discipline within our Property & Buildings team. In this role you will provide leadership, ensure compliance, and drive integrity and quality across plumbing engineering for building and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership for the plumbing engineering discipline, ensuring project and work site deliverables are achieved with high quality.
- Perform engineering review of permit applications, design plans, specifications, and engineering contracts to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead large, complex plumbing engineering projects, managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors.
- Provide technical guidance on plumbing, fire protection, suppression, and fluid flow systems.
- Develop business opportunities and drive profitable performance of projects.
- Lead contract negotiations, presentations, and meetings.
- Support long‑term strategy, growth, and pipeline development for plumbing engineering within the assigned area.
- Mentor staff and support their professional development.
- Serve as liaison with government agencies, clients, subcontractors, and industry groups.
- Ensure continuous improvement of certifications, value proposition, and skill development.
- Operate with ethical decision‑making and comply with WSP Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- 15+ years of post‑education experience in engineering, plumbing, mechanical, and infrastructure design.
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing design, especially in the healthcare industry.
- Engineer license preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with plumbing and mechanical engineering principles, processes, design methods, and computational analysis.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing and mechanical engineering laws, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and guide mid‑to‑senior level team members.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP policies.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and project demands.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Graduate degree in Engineering.
- Previous experience in healthcare projects.
- LEED certification desired.
- Experience managing review and approval of documents in a multi‑project environment.

CompensationExpected Salary (Colorado only): $194,900 – $310,860
