Role SummaryThe Rivian Supply Chain team is looking for highly motivated and exceptional Purchasing professionals to bring Rivian's engineered products to life. In this role, the Senior Global Supply Manager is an experienced, autonomous individual contributor responsible for sourcing strategy, supplier selection, and part management for R1T, R1S, R2, R3 and Electric Delivery Vehicles. As a Senior Global Supply Manager, you will be responsible for supporting all commercial aspects of awarding new and managing current production business and working side by side with your leader and our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our highly innovative technical requirements.
You will also work with your team leader to ensure Rivian meets cost targets, that suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines, and parts are received at the highest level of quality on time. On our team, we expect members to own every aspect of the sourcing process from start to finish. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Global Supply Management within the Supply Chain Organization and is located onsite in Irvine, CA.
- Support the development of sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps
- Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, develop a sourcing approach and roadmaps for Rivian stakeholders
- Craft sourcing recommendations and present to executive cross functional leadership
- Support contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA's, General Terms & Conditions and Production Supply Agreements, and RFQ responses
- Perform detailed comparative analyses of supplier quote submissions and cost breakdowns
- Collaborate with internal Cost Estimating partners to build should cost analysis to negotiate most competitive market pricing
- Drive and implement cost reductions on prototype and production vehicles through leveraged negotiations to achieve vehicle cost targets
- Manage strong supplier relationships while maintaining accountability for world class operations utilizing key performance metrics
- Kickoff purchase orders for production and prototype tooling, engineering, parts and other supplier related costs while maintaining budget throughout program life ECRs
- Review Engineering, Design & Development (ED&D) costs with Engineering leads to ensure best-in-class cost is attained
- Manage vehicle budget in collaboration with Rivian Finance team
- Work closely alongside Program Management to support prototype requirements, execute against build milestones and track sourcing progress
- Support Supplier Development/Quality plant audits and technical reviews
- Maintain internal systems to assure pricing and roadmaps are always up to date
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing experience
- Negotiation experience specific to automotive electric Drive Unit commodities
- SAP experience
- Proficient interpersonal, presentation, and communications skills
- Meticulous analytical skills and ability to manage large amounts of complex supplier quote data accurately
- Attention to detail to ensure specifications being requested are received
- High level of integrity and desire to own one's role and contributions to the cross-functional team
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $107,800 - $134,800 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
