Position SummaryLays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies developmental and production electronics components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the essential duties listed below. Troubleshoots items to component level, working with engineering personnel when required.
Responsibilities- Must be able to perform test activities that include field return and failure analysis from written instructions and drawings.
- Must have experience with writing reports and failure analyses, and must be able to read schematics and troubleshoot to component level.
- Understanding of Environmental, Vibration, Shock and Acceleration testing to MIL Standards is a plus.
- Hands‑on experience with electronic test equipment such as multimeters, microscopes, oscilloscopes, power meters, hi‑pot testing, fiber optics, etc.
- Must have previous ISO
9001 or AS9100 work experience along with FOD prevention 5S.
- Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years hands‑on experience in environmental electronics; fiber optic experience a plus.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to prioritize workload, complete tasks in a timely manner, exercise discretion, and pay close attention to detail to produce high‑level accuracy.
- Expected to work effectively with co‑workers, customers and others by sharing ideas constructively, listening, keeping commitments, and addressing problems to find mutually acceptable solutions while respecting diversity.
- Interface and relate well with all employees and multiple departments and levels within the Company; requires strong teamwork/cooperative abilities and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in PC spreadsheet (Excel) and word processing (Word).
- Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters, RF generators, network analyzers, microscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- Ability to frequently or constantly exert up to 20 pounds of force and occasionally up to 50 pounds to move/lift objects.
- Occasional travel and driving; valid driver’s license required; occasional extended hours and weekends; vision requirement includes ability to work at a PC periodically.
- Requires use of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms; ability to hear and speak clearly; regularly required to sit, stand, stoop or reach.
- Noise level usually moderate; work area subject to both air‑conditioning and non‑air‑conditioning; ability to be flexible and deal with changing conditions; shop environment contains hazardous materials, dust, moving equipment, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, and metal chips from cutting, milling, drilling and turning operations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees; requires strong oral/written communication skills; able to communicate in English.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
