Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineers; demonstrate project management skills and the ability to manage multiple large-scale projects involving other senior engineers and sub-consultants.
  • Provide mentorship to design engineers and prepare proposals independently for clients; demonstrate active development of business with new and existing clients.
  • Coordinate among disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, architectural); work in close contact with the entire design team.
  • Review and edit specifications for projects; ensure CAD/BIM standards are understood and utilized.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, power single line and riser diagrams, and perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM.
  • Design lighting and power circuits, select lighting fixtures and power equipment, and coordinate the lighting control system.
  • Design and coordinate fire alarm systems (device layout, riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations) per International Fire Code and NFPA 72; prepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details.
  • Understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards and have knowledge of the California Electrical Code and Energy Standards for medium and low voltage systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare project teams (pre-design surveys, site assessment reports, electrical system design) and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer License required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience; PM experience preferred.
  • Able to lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineers; strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit required; familiar with HCAI requirements.
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Healthcare/Hospitals building experience preferred.
