Principal Test Development Engineer

Responsibilities Max Linear  is seeking a Principal Test Development Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will focus on the following:

Develop ATE test solutions for highly integrated RF SoC ICs for Wireless, Cable, and High-Speed Interconnect transceiver applications

Lead cross-functional discussions on testability architecture, design for test, efficient test solution development, and ATE test HW design

Define, document, and drive best practices within test engineering team Drive R&D experiments for new hardware and software design concepts

Evaluate new software/automation tools to improve test development efficiency

Provide training and technical guidance to junior test engineers in the team Interact with test ecosystem to enable test solutions that meet our business needs

Communicate clearly with all levels within the company

Assist with attracting and hiring top talent

Accountable for the KPIs (test coverage, test cost, product spec compliance) for test engineering Qualifications Strong background in RF, Mixed Signal, and Digital principles

Expertise in developing multi-site production test solutions for complex RF SoCs using Advantest 93K wave scale and port scale test system.

Experience with other test systems is a plus Experience in C, C++, Java, VB, Lab View, or automation scripting (PERL, PYTHON, or MATLAB)
Experience in developing high-performance RF ATE hardware

Experience with electronic bench-test equipment - oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, pulse and signal generators, power supplies, DC source/measure

Proven track record of leading test development and taking multiple RF SOCs to high-volume productionBS in Electrical Engineering or related + 9 years of experience, or MS + 7 years of experience

Compensation and Benefits Max Linear  has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

Max Linear's good faith estimate starting base salary range is:  $142,000to $191,000 Annually We offer competitive benefits designed to support employee health, welfare, and retirement and some highlights are:  health care benefits, 401k savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and paid time off.

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
