Senior Accountant

Vaco Orange County is a leading provider of accounting and finance consulting services. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Lake Forest, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Performing monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and allocations
• Update standard costs annually (or as needed) in collaboration with Engineering, Customer Service, and Production; validate standard costs, analyze manufacturing variances and job profitability, and recommend adjustments to enhance financial accuracy
• Supporting the consolidation process for multiple entities and intercompany transactions
• Maintain and reconcile metal inventory records and prepare monthly reports
• Prepare and assist in review of monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
• Maintaining and updating the general ledger and chart of accounts
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Manage quarterly forecast and annual budgeting process for G&A
• Prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
• Review portfolio financial statements; analyze and write variance comments for significant financial variances
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
• Assist with complex special projects, including preparing various analysis schedule & ad hoc requests

Job Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 5 years accounting experience in Manufacturing required
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with Epicor preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel: writing formulas, pivot table, and power query (Preferred)
• Ability to work on a temp-to-permanent basis
