Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Irvine, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing and resolving accounts receivable issues while ensuring the accuracy of billing and credit processes. The ideal candidate brings expertise in both commercial and consumer collections, along with proficiency in financial tools and software.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage accounts receivable collections for both commercial and consumer accounts.

- Review and analyze aging reports to prioritize and address overdue accounts.

- Communicate effectively with clients to resolve outstanding balances and ensure timely payments.

- Implement and maintain efficient credit and collection processes to meet organizational goals.

- Collaborate with internal teams to verify billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel and Sage MAS 500 to track, report, and manage collection activities.

- Develop strategies to minimize overdue accounts and improve overall collection rates.

- Prepare regular reports on collection progress and account statuses for management.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations in all collection activities. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in collections, including both commercial and consumer accounts.

- Strong understanding of credit and collection processes and best practices.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Sage MAS 500 or similar software.

- Ability to analyze aging reports and develop effective collection strategies.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for resolving account issues.

- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in billing and documentation.

- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.
