The FP&A Senior Analyst reports directly to the Associate Director, School of Medicine Finance and works closely with the Director, School of Medicine Finance. The position serves as the Dean’s Office FP&A partner to multiple clinical departments varying in size and complexity and will be responsible for supporting Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) services that enable clinical department leaders and SOM leadership to make timely decisions and achieve desired financial results.

• Support the SOM’s annual budgeting process, financial quarterly forecast, variance analysis, and special projects including financial system transformations supporting UCI Medical Center.
• Analyze actual vs plan reporting, explain underlying drivers, track key clinical operational metrics, and develop assumptions to model forward‑looking financial reports.
• Provide consulting and strategic support to SOM clinical departments and senior leadership to understand future performance, assess risks, and align resources with strategic goals.
• Manage relationships with SOM departments and other stakeholders through strategic planning, trend analysis, scenario planning, and actionable insights.
• Support school‑wide analyses and assist in reporting for campus, rolling forecasting, and long‑range financial planning processes.
• Lead critical projects with substantial organizational impact and exercise judgment on assumption selection and healthcare trends.

• Solid understanding of financial modeling and forecasting techniques with demonstrated ability to build robust models to accurately predict future performance.
• Strong presentation skills, ability to translate complex data into executive presentations.
• Knowledge of GAAP or GASB, finance policies, practices, and systems.
• Ability to identify, collect, and analyze information from multiple sources.
• Expert interpersonal and consulting skills at all levels within the organization.
• Strong service orientation, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
• Organizational and multitasking skills in a high‑volume environment.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.

• CPA/MBA preferred (focus on Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics or related field).
• 10 years of combined experience with a BA/BS or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 to 3 years in accounting, 3–5 years in FP&A.
• Preferred:
  Healthcare industry experience.
• CPA (inactive) preferred.
