** Animal Services Officer I Salary:
32.09 - 50.45 Hourly  
** Your Impact
*** Investigate animal related crimes, write reports, book evidence. Initiate appropriate corrective action.
* Conduct inspections and respond to calls and complaints.
* Issue warning and citations to enforce state and local laws.
* Educate citizens about the laws and regulations.
* Collect sick or injured wildlife and impound the animals.
* Clean and maintain the animal control vehicle and cages utilized to transport animals.

** Minimum Qualifications
*** Equivalent to graduation from high school.
* Two years’ experience in public safety activities, community service or in the caring and handling of animals, OR one year experience working in the field as an animal control officer, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
* Requires a valid California driver's license.
* 832 P.C. certification preferred.

*** Experience in an animal handling environment. Understands the signals of behavior and animal handling.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong customer service focus and understands and upholds the core values of the Irvine Police Department.
* Experience as an Animal Services Officer is desirable.
* Investigations and trial experience is ideal.
