UC Irvine School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care, Specialist Series – Ostlund Laboratory anticipates openings in the field of Motivated Behavior and Addiction (Junior, Assistant, Associate, Full).
The position will conduct general laboratory research procedures, including animal behavioral testing, cardiac perfusions, and brain tissue processing. May involve other routine laboratory maintenance and administrative activities.
- Junior Specialists – baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) or equivalent research experience.
- Assistant Specialists – master’s degree (or equivalent) or five years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.
- Associate Specialists – master’s degree (or equivalent) or five to ten years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization; expected to have a record of academic accomplishments, including publications or in‑press research and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
- Full Specialists – terminal degree (or equivalent) or ten or more years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization; expected to have a significant record of academic accomplishments, including publications or in‑press research, professional recognition in the field, and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS – BA/BS, Masters, PhD, or MD/PhD by the proposed start date.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS – strong organizational and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – evidence of specialized research skills and approaches of past research productivity.
Positions are dependent upon extramural funding; renewal is based on availability of funding. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates should have relevant experience and interest but will be trained and supervised by PI and other senior lab staff.
