Director Labor Relations – South Division
Join Providence as our Director for Labor Relations in the South Division, overseeing labor relations across California ministries.
Role OverviewAs the Labor Relations Director, you will spearhead labor relations initiatives for our South Division – ensuring effective contract administration, nurturing healthy relationships with labor representatives, supporting bargaining processes, mitigating labor risks, and developing strategic labor plans. You will collaborate with HR COEs, operations leadership, and field HR to enhance the core leaders and caregiver experience.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership on labor relations services aligned with our organizational goals.
- Identify labor trends and report to inform strategic actions.
- Design and implement negotiation strategies with legal counsel and HR.
- Prepare contract proposals and oversee bargaining and implementation.
- Advise leaders on labor issues and guide decision‑making.
- Develop labor‑related communications and training programs.
- Improve caregiver and core leader experience.
- Build and develop a functional team.
- Use metrics to align strategies with objectives.
- Embed the organization’s mission throughout the process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field;
Master’s preferred. - 8 years in leadership roles within a labor environment and 10+ years in complex, multi‑location organizations.
- Proven ability to implement strategic initiatives, enhance retention, and reduce turnover.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, presentation, and training skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of labor laws (FLSA, NLRA, ADA, EEOC).
- Experience in change management, team building, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Healthcare background preferred.
- Competitive base pay range of $85.88–$137.30 per hour, plus incentives.

Salary and CompensationPay Range: $85.88–$137.30 per hour (base). Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, and bonus opportunities.
