Job Summary:
Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a Certified Payroll Specialist to manage and process certified payroll for all projects. The ideal candidate ensures compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations, including prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon Act requirements, while maintaining accurate records and supporting audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, process, and submit certified payroll reports for public and private construction projects.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws, including the Davis-Bacon Act.
Maintain detailed employee records, including hours, wage rates, fringe benefits, and labor classifications.
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and HR to verify labor classifications and job codes.
Review and reconcile payroll data from timesheets and project reports.
Generate payroll and job cost reports for management and accounting teams.
Assist with audits and respond to inquiries regarding payroll reporting.
Support payroll system implementation, updates, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Experience in certified payroll for construction projects.
Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and labor regulations.
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered.
