Compensation: $100,000 – $110,000 / Annually
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job DescriptionOur client is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a multi-state workforce. This role is ideal for a highly analytical payroll professional who enjoys owning the full payroll function and proactively identifying discrepancies, trends, and process improvements. The Payroll Supervisor will serve as the primary payroll subject matter expert and work closely with Finance and Human Resources leadership to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
This is a hands‑on role with no direct reports, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to think beyond processing to ensure payroll integrity across locations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing for a large hourly employee population
- Review timekeeping data for accuracy, identify anomalies, and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations across approximately 20 states
- Prepare, audit, and reconcile payroll reports to support Finance and HR leadership
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including taxes, deductions, and adjustments
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP; XLOOKUP a plus) to analyze payroll data
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased payroll controls
- Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related questions from internal stakeholders
- Partner closely with the Director of Human Resources and report directly to the CFO
- Extensive experience processing multi-state payroll
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and inconsistencies
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and informal team environment
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the payroll function
