Cloud Dev Ops Support Engineer
This position is a customer-facing role and will work closely with key stakeholders, including software development and support teams. It is based at our Irvine, CA office, with on‑site attendance on a weekly hybrid schedule mandatory.
Essential Functions And Main Duties- Support the implementation & deployment of cloud-based, full stack application systems following Dev Ops processes and practices.
- Serve as a liaison with stakeholders to establish technical requirements and necessary configuration.
- Monitor cloud system performance, availability, and costs, ensuring systems are operating efficiently.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system and deployment issues.
- Maintain and manage incident and problem tracking through the company’s ticketing system, ensuring timely updates and closure.
- Participate in on‑call support to address production incidents.
- Test cloud services and setups to determine performance and failure modes.
- Present cloud infrastructure plans and comparisons.
- Provide guidance on cloud architecture best practices during the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in on‑call rotations for cloud support, responding to incidents in a timely manner.
- Share knowledge and train other team members on cloud operations and Dev Ops practices.
- Create and maintain documentation for training materials and procedures on providing end‑user support.
- Implement and monitor cloud security policies and controls to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation activities within the cloud environment.
- Maintain scripts for automated deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
- Maintain clear and up‑to‑date documentation of cloud configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support change management processes, ensuring reliable deployments and system updates.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
- Two or more (2+) years of cloud experience
- Cloud certifications (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google) preferred
- Well‑versed with deployment and operation of public cloud services‑based development environment, both IaaS and PaaS (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google)
- Experience in software containers (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Well‑versed in databases with strong ability to work with data using SQL, Python, MATLAB, Node.js
- Knowledge of data processing/messaging systems (e.g. Kafka/KSQL) a plus
- Knowledge of data analytics engine (e.g. Spark) a plus
- Programming skills in JavaScript, Python and/or Go
- Experience in setting up resources on AWS, GCC, Azure, or Oracle Cloud environments.
- Experience with or general knowledge of both SQL and No
SQL database setup and performance testing - Experience in implementing infrastructure‑as‑code solutions using Terraform or other frameworks
- Intermediate knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, and deployment
- Knowledge of networking configurations for firewall, bandwidth, and requests per second
- Some knowledge of medical image and health records standards is helpful (e.g. HL7, DICOM, FHIR)
- Must be located in southern CA area.
- Must be able to come on‑site to our Irvine, CA office on a weekly hybrid schedule.
- Deeply cares about best software engineering practices and code quality, including adhering to sprint plans, good coding conventions and tooling, clean interfaces, test coverage, performance benchmarking, and performance optimizations and software security.
- Ability to quickly prototype and refine components.
- Ability to learn new technologies, software, and methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Takes initiative when problem‑solving and is not afraid to ask questions.
- Communicates clearly and professionally through effective listening, speaking and writing skills.
