The Lead Data Engineer will lead big data compilation projects that gather and integrate enterprise data, perform validation and analysis, and develop and implement performance optimization guidelines for datasets.
This role maintains and improves dataset integrity, ensures regulatory compliance, and boosts operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain data pipelines to ingest, process, and store financial data from internal and external sources.
- Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple systems such as accounting software, trading platforms, financial databases, and market feeds.
- Build and optimize relational and non‑relational databases (SQL, No
SQL) for storing and retrieving financial data efficiently. - Implement data quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies to comply with financial regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
- Collaborate with data scientists, financial analysts, and business intelligence teams to define data needs and make data accessible for analysis.
- Work with software engineers and IT teams to integrate data solutions with other business systems.
- Automate repetitive data‑processing tasks to improve operational efficiency.
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance of data pipelines and systems to handle large volumes of financial data.
- Provide financial data to support reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Support data integrity and provide troubleshooting for data pipelines, databases, and financial applications.
- Maintain secure storage of financial data, adhering to security and privacy standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 7 years’ experience managing and administering data using tools, facilities, and techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Scala.
- Experience with application development tools, information management and data warehousing.
- Strong experience with on‑prem and cloud data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, RDS, Oracle, MS SQL).
- Familiarity with data pipeline tools (Apache Kafka, Airflow, ETL frameworks) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of relational databases and dataset architecture best practices.
- Experience in application delivery processes and IT environments.
