OverviewAs a Senior Cloud Engineer – Distributed Database & Middleware, you will design and optimize the architecture of distributed database and middleware systems to ensure scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance. You will drive data governance strategies, optimize performance across multiple layers, and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor engineers in database management, system stability, and performance tuning.
Responsibilities- Design the overall architecture of distributed database and middleware systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Integrate open‑source components to build solutions that meet enterprise‑grade standards.
- Conduct in‑depth research and optimization of database underlying data governance, including data storage formats, data structures, indexing methods, data sharding, data compaction, data compression, data validation and repair, as well as data backup and recovery.
- Formulate efficient data governance strategies to ensure high‑performance and secure data processing in a distributed environment.
- Optimize multi‑layer resources, including operating system I/O and network performance, to ensure system stability and high performance in complex environments.
- Monitor system performance metrics to promptly identify and resolve issues.
- Design and implement routine operations, data backup and recovery, and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Establish operational standards for distributed applications and continuously optimize system stability and recoverability.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (development, operations, security, etc.) to ensure project success.
- Mentor team members in distributed systems, database governance, and performance tuning practices to elevate the overall technical expertise within the team.
- Educational background:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. - Over 5 years of experience in cloud computing, distributed systems, database systems, or related fields.
- Proven experience in architecture design and implementation within large‑scale internet or enterprise systems.
- Distributed System Theory:
Deep understanding of CAP theory, BASE principles, ACID transactions, and consensus/consistency algorithms. - Distributed Architecture Expertise:
Mastery of common distributed architecture designs and the ability to propose effective solutions for various business scenarios. - Database Underlying Governance:
Proficient in data storage formats, data structures, indexing methods, data sharding, data compaction, data compression, data validation and repair, and strategies for data backup and recovery. - Transaction Concurrency & Performance Tuning:
Expertise in transaction concurrency control, extensive experience in performance tuning (including OS I/O optimization, network optimization, etc.), and designing locking mechanisms. - Distributed Applications & Disaster Recovery:
