We’re currently seeking a passionate Systems Specialist to join our integrated team of architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and master planners. As a member of Inspire Design (), our unified technology team, you will be a firm wide participant in our uniquely collaborative process by maintaining, supporting, and implementing technologies that inspire the design process. Your impact will be across multiple disciplines on a wide variety of innovative, sustainable projects.

Who we are:

LPA’s technology team, Inspire Design, is a unified group that includes Design Technology (DT), Systems Technology (ST), Data and AI Technology (D+AI), Business Technology (BT), and Digital Product development (Product). As a part of Systems Technologies, the Systems Specialist is critical in supporting the in person hardware, software, and physical infrastructure vital to the firm's daily operations. This position focuses on effectively maintaining key business and design systems and applications while providing exceptional support service.

As part of a unified technology team, you will also contribute to efforts within the other teams (DT, D+AI, BT, + Product) which advance our pursuit of a better process that returns better results.

What you’ll do:
  • Actively listen to end users’ explanations of computer issues.
  • Installation, troubleshooting, and configuration workstation software and hardware.
  • Set up accounts, physical computers, and workstation cabling.
  • Act as the first point of contact to address or delegate resolution of technical issues and requests.
  • Ensure security through access controls and compliance with policies.
  • Guide users through the recommended troubleshooting procedures.
  • Utilize effective questioning techniques to identify problems accurately.
  • Installation and tracking of IT assets.
  • Develop expertise to inform and collaborate with staff on new technologies.
  • Maintain and update an internal knowledge base with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.

What we’re looking for:

Required:
  • Up to 3 years of related field experience.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification preferred.
  • Passion for people through excellent customer service and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of various operating systems and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and desktop PC support.
  • Awareness of antivirus technologies and data backup/recovery.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Resourcefulness and an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience educating others.
  • Passion for knowledge sharing and documentation.
Preferred:
  • Experience in a service desk or client facing service environment.
  • AA or BS/BA in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent field experience.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3d, Newforma Project Center, Bluebeam Revu, or similar design applications.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco).
