The Director of IT will serve as Spy Glass Pharma’s first dedicated in-house IT leader — a hands-on builder who also brings the experience to know what good looks like. This role owns IT strategy, systems administration, and infrastructure across Spy Glass’s Microsoft 365-based environment and directs our managed IT and security services provider (MSP/MSSP), responsible for IT service delivery and security operations and partners closely with our fractional CISO, who owns cybersecurity strategy, AI governance, and third-party security risk.

The ideal candidate will operate independently as an individual contributor initially, while leveraging the services and skills of our Managed Service Provider (MSP). Eventually, this individual will be a key contributor to the strategy for building out Spy Glass’ IT infrastructure as the company scales.

• Lead the design, implementation, and administration of Spy Glass Pharma’s IT infrastructure, including its Microsoft 365, Entra , Intune, networking, and cloud environment.
• Own the full lifecycle of enterprise IT systems — configuration, security, maintenance, monitoring, and upgrades — across platforms including Egnyte (file storage), Net Suite (ERP), Master Control (QMS), Bamboo (HRIS & ATS), and Veeva Vault and iMednet/Medrio (clinical systems).
• Direct and manage Spy Glass’s outsourced IT and help desk provider, including SLAs, escalation, and an ongoing evaluation of what should remain outsourced versus move in‑house as the company scales.
• Partner with Spy Glass’s fractional CISO to operationalize cybersecurity, AI governance, and access‑control policy — the CISO sets policy and risk direction; this role builds and runs the systems that implement it.
• Develop and implement IT policies, standard operating procedures, and governance frameworks that scale with the company from approximately 90 to 300-500 employees, including support for new office locations.
• Oversee all aspects of system backup and disaster recovery planning, execution, and testing.
• Collaborate with business functions — including Quality, Clinical, Commercial, Finance, and HR — to assess IT needs, implement solutions, and support strategic projects across the organization.
• Manage user access, system provisioning, and secure integrations across key business platforms, and build scalable onboarding/offboarding and device‑lifecycle processes that don’t require linear headcount growth in IT.
