Associate Attorney - Patents & IP Transactions

Opportunity to join a leading full‑service California law firm in Irvine. The firm is AmLaw 200 and recognized for excellence, collaboration and work‑life balance.

Base salary $200,000–$225,000 per year, plus annual bonuses, 401(k) with profit‑sharing, comprehensive benefits, unlimited PTO for attorneys, and a clear path to partnership.

• Draft and prosecute patent and trademark applications before the USPTO.
• Structure and negotiate complex IP licensing agreements, technology transfers and joint‑development agreements.
• Draft and negotiate software licenses, SaaS agreements and open‑source compliance strategies.
• Manage IP aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence and post‑closing integration.
• Advise on patent, trademark and copyright portfolio strategies and monetization.
• Counsel clients on IP provisions in commercial agreements and strategic partnerships.
• Support venture capital and private equity transactions with IP valuations and risk assessments.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in intellectual property transactions.
• Admitted to practice in California and before the USPTO.
• Academic background from a top law school preferred.
• Must reside within commutable distance to the Irvine office.
