Production Manager Position Summary
Production Manager role at Parker Hannifin with supervisory responsibilities for up to 40 employees, including training, performance appraisals, coaching, and disciplinary procedures. Interacts with employees at all levels, customers, and external contacts.
Essential Functions- Supervise and direct work activity for the assigned Value Stream Team, distribute workload appropriately, motivate and empower subordinates, and develop them through clear development plans.
- Monitor production reporting to control inventory systems.
- Monitor production costs and ensure delivery performance by performing capacity analysis, determining staffing requirements, and meeting departmental productivity targets. Troubleshoot schedule and material issues.
- Participate in new product launches with Engineering and review initial costs for quoting.
- Ensure quality standards are met; champion Lean Kaizen events to improve manufacturing capability and reduce rework and scrap, and contain sources of quality issues.
- Communicate with customers and establish and maintain effective relationships.
- Promote and enforce compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Administer and ensure compliance with company policies, investigate and document employee‑related issues, counsel employees, and issue corrective action.
- B.A./B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline and a minimum of six years of professional experience with demonstrated ability to perform the role and achieve desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area may be required or preferred.
- Proven competency in a team‑leader role for two or more years, and/or demonstrated leadership of major projects or programs in a team environment.
- Thorough knowledge of products, manufacturing processes and technology, information systems, and general business practices.
- Strong teamwork and team‑building skills, capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and maintaining enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serves as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
- Pay Range: $104,400 to $174,150 annually
- Participation in Annual Incentive Program
