Base Pay Range

$18.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Job Summary

Perform incoming and in-process inspections to ensure purchased and manufactured components meet quality specifications and technical requirements. Provide technical assistance on all measurement systems within the QA department and assist manufacturing as needed.

Job Duties
  • Test and inspect incoming manufactured and purchased components per drawing and control plan requirements.
  • Ensure inspection is performed with the proper and calibrated gauges and equipment.
  • Take accurate measurements utilizing precision devices such as micrometers, vernier dial calipers, hardness & surface testers and pre‑set gauges.
  • Prepare documentation for component history records, and incoming parts history files.
  • Ensure incoming materials are properly identified and segregated.
  • Process and segregate discrepant materials per procedure.
  • Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) devices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Highly proficient level regarding blueprint reading and high precision tolerance.
  • Must be familiar with GD&T (Geometric Dimension and Tolerance).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge of PC skills (Word, Excel and Access) and manufacturing data systems desired (ERP).
  • Proficiency with CMM operation/inspection. Programming capability a plus (may be trained).
Accountabilities
  • Guarantee quality of products in highly regulated environment.
  • Ensure integrity of Device Master History records.
  • Ensure all quality aspects of this position.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Familiarity of machine shop processes/environment.
Education and Experience

High school diploma required. Technical training and certification preferred. Extensive experience using measuring devices and other tools used in inspection of high precision components required. 2 years' experience in Quality Assurance / Control with on‑the‑job training.

Interpersonal and Communications Skills

Position requires contact primarily within the Quality department on routine matters (QA, QC, Machine Shop, Assembly, Materials). Contact outside the department within the company is minimal and referred to department management when necessary.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive amount of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Language Skills

Must possess ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Quality System Manual. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one‑on‑one, team members and small group situations.

Mental, Physical and Visual Demands

Uses critical thinking skills to create original documents, reports and spreadsheets and interpret information furnished in written, oral or schedule form; able to make set goals based on available information and to plan work in order to meet deadlines; able to be resourceful at problem solving and formulates appropriate responses to requests for services and information from internal or external customers;
Ability to perform visual/mechanical inspections (good near side vision 1‑2ft under typical production lit environment). Able to project likely future occurrences based on current or historic data.
