Eaton’s Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Machinist III to set‑up, adjust, and operate a variety of machine tools including engine lathes, mills, CNC machines, drill presses, and deburr. The hourly rate is $34.00 per hour and the shift is 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
- Perform operations such as drilling, tapping, reaming, and boring on a variety of work pieces while ensuring dimensional accuracy.
- Create setups and operate CNC machines to specific programs as per part number and work instruction using DNC (direct numerical control) link.
- Work from drawings and specifications using a variety of precision measuring instruments and read engineering drawings with knowledge of geometric tolerance.
- Work under general supervision; subject to progress and final inspection; inspect work after completion and complete inspection paperwork.
- Skilled on lathes and mill/turn 5‑axis machines and willing to rotate to various types of machines.
- Perform Lean initiatives and Continuous Improvement activities.
- May be required to work beyond normal hours as workload dictates.
- Comply with all safety requirements, proper PPE usage, and maintain work‑area clean per 5S standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum five (5) years of previous machinist experience.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- U.S. person under ITAR; required to handle ITAR‑subject equipment.
- Lathe experience 2‑3 axis (Mazak preferred).
- Must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Irvine, CA (or active duty military exemption).
- Previous work experience in the aerospace industry.
- Milling 4‑axis experience.
- Mazak machining experience.
