Machinist III - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Machinist III – 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $34.00 per hour. Shift hours are 2:00 PM–10:30 PM. This position is eligible for a variable incentive program.

Eaton’s Aerospace Group is recruiting an experienced Machinist III to set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as CNC Lathes and CNC Mills.

• Perform operations such as drilling, tapping, reaming, and boring on a variety of work requiring a degree of skill while ensuring dimensional accuracy is maintained.
• Create setups and operate CNC machines to a specific program as per part number and work instruction sheet via utilization of DNC (direct numerical control) link on computer.
• Work from drawings and specifications using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
• Read and comprehend engineering drawings, GD&T geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Work under general supervision; work is subject to progress and final inspection.
• Inspect work after completion as well as complete all appropriate inspection paperwork.
• Be skilled on both lathes and Mill/Turn Multi‑Axis machines.
• Rotate to various types of machines in order to be competent in their operation.
• Perform Lean Initiatives including Continuous Improvement.
• Work beyond normal working hours from time to time as the workload dictates.
• Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work‑area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years’ previous work experience as a Machinist.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to ITAR. All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
• Experience on 2–3 axis CNC Lathes (Mazak experience preferred).
• No relocation benefit is being offered. Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Irvine will be considered (Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation).

• Previous work experience in the Aerospace Industry.
• Milling 4 Axis Experience.
• CNC Mazak machining experience.

• Knowledge & use of shop mathematics.
• Knowledge of geometric symbols.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings & schematics.
• Experience using a variety of measuring tools/instruments.
