Since 1973, South Coast Mold has been a tool and die job shop serving the investment (precision) casting industry. We make the dies that produce wax patterns for investment cast alloy parts. All of our die design and die building is done in the US. Our customers span aerospace, industrial gas turbines (IGT), automotive, electronic, medical, marine, oil, and commercial industries.

We're looking for a skilled Tool Maker to build precision aluminum dies from CAD model and blueprint to finished tool. You'll work across our machine shop, using both manual and CNC equipment, to produce tight-tolerance tooling.

• Machine die components using CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
• Cut aluminum and other tooling materials to print specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints and CAD models
• Program and run Mori Seiki CNC equipment using CAD/CAM
• Design, fixture, and set up work for machining
• Perform layout and inspection
• Fit, assemble, and finish dies, making adjustments as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

• Experience in a machine shop or tool and die environment
• CNC machining experience
• CAD/CAM proficiency
  
  Skill with lathe, drilling, and grinding operations
• Experience cutting aluminum
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Inspection and layout experience
• Ability to design fixtures and set up work for machining
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Investment casting or wax injection die building experience
• Mastercam experience
• Machine shop trade school certs
