Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of grounds maintenance and repair functions including litter pick‑up, cultivating, trimming of shrubs and small trees, fertilizing, planting, and irrigation repairs.
  • Operates grounds power tools and machinery.
  • Applies problem‑solving skills and uses sound judgment under supervision.
  • Maintains irrigation systems and uses trenchers, tractors, roto‑tillers, and other commonly used power‑driven grounds equipment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Southern California plant materials, cultural requirements, pests, and diseases.
  • Works independently or in teams, using hand and power tools safely.
  • Follows through and carries out assignments and identifies undesirable plant material.
  • Maintains a valid California driver’s license and complies with DMV Pull Notice Program.
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate orally, in writing, or electronically.
  • Problem‑solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain irrigation systems.
  • Experience operating trenchers, tractors, roto‑tillers and similar equipment.
  • Knowledge of common Southern California plant material and its cultural requirements.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Skill to safely use both hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
Preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, orally and in writing.
Compensation

Hourly pay range: $23.17–$25.62.
