The annual salary range for this position is $76,700 - $201,900. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment.
Position Overview
Applications are being sought for the Project Scientist Series from Ph.D. or M.D. /Ph.D. candidates (Assistant, Associate, or Full Rank) or equivalent experience with strong laboratory research backgrounds, publications & specialized training. Openings are anticipated between July 14, 2025 & June 30, 2026 in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of California, Irvine.
Initial appointments are for one year & renewal is based on available support. Current faculty & research interests are:
- Liver development/function, oxidative stress response, and cancer
- Chlamydia trachomatis; immunopathology and vaccine development
- Promoter binding and activation profiles of cancer
- Brain development
- Brain Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease
- Mechanisms of Neurodegenerative Disease / Neurotherapeutics
- Artificial Intelligence in Medicine
- Neuronal Diversity, Omics, and Imaging in Brain Development and Disease
- Breast cancer, epigenetics, environmental exposures, and biomarkers
- Prostate cancer disparities, Ovarian cancer, Epigenetics, Human endogenous retroviruses in cancer
- Glycoimmunology in health, autoimmunity, and immune senescence; glycoproteomics and cross-linking mass spectrometry
- Computational Medicine
- Conventional diagnostics through new optical technologies

Basic qualifications (required at time of application):
Degreed (Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D.) candidates with strong laboratory research backgrounds & specialized training.
