Role SummaryThe Protection Security lead is entrusted with safeguarding Rivian Executives through the delivery of comprehensive, discreet, and proactive protective services. This is a front‑line role that demands exceptional judgment, adaptability, and initiative. This role requires an individual who can operate independently, provide a proactive approach to safeguarding executives, and seamlessly integrate protective strategies into the daily rhythm of executive operations.
The ideal candidate is a proven self‑starter who can contribute meaningfully from day one, bringing advanced expertise in executive protection, risk assessment, and crisis response. They will serve as a primary protective resource for executives, capable of managing complex travel schedules, high‑profile public engagements, and sensitive business environments with professionalism and integrity.
This role requires leadership in action‑setting the standard for operational excellence, discretion, and reliability. The Lead, Protection Security candidate must be able to build trust at the highest levels of the organization, uphold strict confidentiality, and deliver results in dynamic and high‑pressure environments. This position represents the front line of executive safety and is critical to enabling Rivian Executives to perform their duties with confidence and peace of mind.

- Lead and coordinate executive protection operations, ensuring the consistent delivery of safety and security for executives and their families.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for executives, stakeholders, and team members, building trust through professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
- Conduct threat assessments and risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Develop and implement security protocols to minimize risk while enabling executives to focus on business objectives.
- Direct and provide close protection services, including domestic and international travel, public appearances, and high‑profile events.
- Provide safe, comfortable, and efficient transportation for executives and designated guests.
- Lead advance work, including site surveys, logistical coordination, and route planning, ensuring seamless operations.
- Maintain clear and open communication with executives to anticipate and meet their security needs.
- Always ensure the highest level of privacy, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with internal partners, law enforcement, and external stakeholders to support protective operations.
- Provide guidance and training on security measures and emergency response for executives, household staff, and key personnel.
- Be prepared to lead crisis response during emergencies including medical incidents, natural disasters, and security breaches.
- Support cross‑functional crisis management and intelligence teams to inform operational postures and enhance corporate security resilience.
- Drive operational improvements by proactively identifying gaps and proposing innovative solutions.
- Complete detail‑oriented reports, manage documentation, and contribute to policy development that strengthens the overall security program.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the safe use and maintenance of protective equipment, vehicles, communications devices, and medical kits.
