Job Description Summary

Responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.

Job Responsibilities

Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC systems.

Clean, lubricate, and service various pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.

Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.

Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and perform painting on walls, piping, floors, and equipment.

Evaluate and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations and identify savings opportunities.

Use and care for tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.

Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer service requests.

Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform preventative maintenance.

Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarm systems and fire pumps.

Perform carpentry and snow removal as needed.

Comply with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety practices.

Utilize technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and building automation systems.

Complete all required safety training annually.

Adhere to the company’s uniform dress code and maintain a professional appearance.

Experience and Qualifications

At least 2 years of related experience in a commercial property setting.
Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or related fields preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; a commercial license may be required.
Basic skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, shift work, and on-call duties.

Work Environment

Primarily in a professional office setting with routine use of standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to communicate effectively, operate office and maintenance equipment, move about the workplace, and perform physical tasks as required.
