AI-First Software Engineer
Planet DDS is a dynamic dental SaaS company serving over 13,000 practices in the United States. We are looking for an AI-First Software Engineer to join our Innovation team in Irvine, CA.
LocationHybrid – 2‑3 days per week in our Irvine office.
Responsibilities- Design and develop AI‑first applications using code generation tools, AI agents, and low‑code platforms.
- Integrate AI‑driven and low‑code solutions with existing systems and databases.
- Extend solutions with AI code generation for custom functionality.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and prototype solutions.
- Stay updated on AI and machine learning advancements and continuously improve AI code generation processes.
- Communicate complex AI and programming concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, ML, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in AI and ML focused on code generation and software development.
- Hands‑on experience with AI‑powered tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Figma, MCP, v0.app, etc.).
- Strong understanding of software development principles and proficiency in C#, .NET, OpenAPI, Python, PyTorch, Docker, Git, microservices, Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD, data handling, and databases (Postgres, MS SQL Server).
- Proficiency with a cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, creativity, curiosity, and passion for innovation.
- Ability to thrive in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments where experimentation is valued.
