OverviewAt TP‑Link Systems Inc., we are looking for a Cloud Software Engineer Backend Manager to lead our backend development team. In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud‑based backend services to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineering leader with experience in cloud infrastructure, backend system design, and team management. You will work closely with other engineering teams to integrate backend services, improve system performance, and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of backend engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and career development.
- Own the backend architecture for scalable, secure, and high‑availability cloud services.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, frontend, mobile, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and product delivery.
- Drive design and implementation of microservices, APIs, and backend components supporting IoT platforms and connected devices.
- Establish engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure strong observability, monitoring, and reliability of backend systems.
- Act as a technical point of escalation, helping troubleshoot complex issues and unblock the team.
- Participate in capacity planning, road mapping, and sprint planning in collaboration with product and project managers.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve systems and processes.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and secure cloud applications.
- Drive technical decisions and provide leadership in technology selection, architecture, and full‑stack development processes.
- Establish metrics and assessment techniques to gauge team performance and system efficiency.
- Mentor and develop team members through coaching, career development opportunities, and constructive feedback.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and risks to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to align backend development with overall company strategy.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in software development with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role managing software engineering teams.
- Strong technical background in cloud technologies and backend systems, particularly with AWS, Azure, or OCI.
- Proficiency in backend development languages and frameworks, such as Java and Spring Boot.
- Deep understanding of JVM, multithreading programming, and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated capability in security best practices for cloud environments.
- Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, database management, and contemporary cloud services.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Dev Ops practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large‑scale software projects and leading a technical team.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven track record with Dev Ops, serverless architectures, and SDN Software Controller Platforms.
- Certifications in cloud computing platforms and project management.
- Experience with AI Ops and automation tools.
- Proven experience managing international teams, with a strong understanding of cross‑cultural communication and collaboration.
Salary range: $110,000 – $220,000
