In this role, you will be a member of the Platform Software team, responsible for developing and maintaining the build infrastructure for embedded vehicle control systems. The position involves a strong focus on writing Bazel rules, maintaining tool chains for C, Rust, and Python, and integrating builds with CI/CD pipelines, such as Git Lab CI. Through your work, you will maintain a fast and efficient build experience for developers at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies.

• Develop and maintain build infrastructure building embedded, resource‑constrained targets for vehicle control systems.
• Write Bazel rules for code generation, compilation, and testing.
• Maintain tool chains for compiling embedded C, rust, and python code and tools.
• Support integration of Bazel‑based builds in CI/CD pipelines in gitlabci.
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate tools in bazel and root cause build failures.
• Come together with your peers to share ideas, ask why with an open and curious mind, and learn from each other's diverse perspectives to deliver great work as a team.

3+ years of experience with Bazel and Python scripting.

3+ years developing software for embedded products.

Strong understanding of compiling embedded C code.

Experience with Git Lab CI or equivalent Continuous Integration systems.

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Irvine, California-based applicants: $135,100 - $168,900 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
