What the Role EntailsLight Speed LA is seeking a talented and enthusiastic senior engineer to join our new studio in sunny Irvine, California. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for games and for enabling content creators to deliver the most polished experience for our players. Join our team of industry veterans and help us build a culture of respect that pushes boundaries while having lots of fun.
Responsibilities- Help maintain a culture of fast iteration and practical problem solving.
- Design and program low‑level graphics engine components.
- Evolve existing systems iteratively into state‑of‑the‑art solutions.
- Mentor others to make the best use of engine systems and hardware capabilities.
- Passion for games and the technology that makes them come to life.
- Excellent 3D math skills.
- Deep understanding of modern rendering techniques, graphics hardware and rendering APIs.
- Strong understanding of game content pipeline and tools.
- 5+ years of professional experience with C++ programming in the game industry.
- Shipped at least one game title on PC and consoles as a graphics engineer.
- Expert C++ and HLSL knowledge and debugging skills.
- Excellent understanding of PC and console hardware bottlenecks and optimization strategies.
- Deep understanding of multithreaded programming.
- Value lean, simple, efficient, well‑tested code.
- Comfortable maintaining existing large codebase for multiple platforms.
- Team player who works closely with other engineers to make sure our technology provides reliable and fast iteration for our content creators and a fluid experience for our customers.
- Experience building AAA engine(s).
- Experience with CUDA or similar.
- Experience with dynamic GI solution and hardware RT.

The expected base pay range for this position is $ to $ per year. Actual pay may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Employees may be eligible for a sign‑on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units, evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis. Subject to the terms and conditions of the plans in effect, hired applicants are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits, and participation in the company’s 401(k) plan.
Up to 15 to 25 days of vacation per year (depending on tenure), up to 13 days of holidays, and up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year. Benefits may be adjusted to reflect location, employment status, duration of employment, and position level and may be pro‑rated for those who start during the calendar year.
