Product Manager – Cosmetics, Toiletries & Homecare
Firmly established in Scotland, my client is a major force in the provision of contract filling, branded and own label aerosol products for the Cosmetics, Toiletries and Homecare sectors, some of the fastest growing areas in the FMCG market place. Their purpose-built manufacturing facility and state-of-the-art laboratories are considered to be some of the finest in Europe. Investment in modern plant and equipment will continue to ensure that NPD is at the heart of the business to service the needs of existing and evolving markets.
In order to further strengthen their team, they are seeking a talented Product Manager.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be based at the company Head Office in Irvine, Ayrshire. Working in a friendly, supportive and hard‑working team, your key responsibilities will see you.
Up to £42,000 + pension + benefits
Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end product development, lifecycle management and customer portfolio management across household and personal care categories
- Engage with customers to develop packaging solutions (primary & secondary packaging) aligned with their goals, technical requirements and sustainability policies
- Collaborate regularly with R & D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Services and external suppliers to ensure successful product launches
- Prepare product costing sheets in conjunction with the Sales team
- Manage customers artwork/approval processes for packaging/packaging artworks to ensure they comply with cosmetic regulations, safety standards and labelling requirements
- Support sustainability initiatives such as PCR integration
- Conduct market analysis, monitor market trends through various categories and prepare market review presentations with a customer focus
- Previous experience in a Product Management or Project Management role within the cosmetics, toiletries, personal care or FMCG sector is essential
- Strong understanding of packaging and artwork preparation with a sound knowledge of sustainability requirements
- Multi-tasker with high level of detail and accuracy and experience of seeing a project through from start to finish
- Experience of working on multiple projects and ability to handle tight, changing deadlines
- Customer-facing experience including delivery of client presentations is required
- Comfortable working on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent people skills with ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
- First-class IT, organisational and prioritisation skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
