Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Mobility Equipment Engineer to install, service, maintain and repair a wide range of mobility and access equipment. This role involves working both in customers’ homes and on-site, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and compliant with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, maintain and repair mobility equipment including hoists, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, rise & recline chairs and access equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently and safely
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Complete accurate job reports, service records and compliance documentation
  • Provide excellent customer service, explaining repairs and equipment use clearly
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines and health & safety standards
  • Manage van stock, tools and spare parts effectively
  • Liaise with customers, colleagues and suppliers as required
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as a Mobility Equipment Engineer, Service Engineer, or similar field-based engineering role preferred, but training can be provided to the ideal candidate
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault‑finding skills
  • Experience working with mobility aids, lifting equipment or medical devices (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
  • Basic IT skills for completing reports and job updates
Qualifications (Desirable)
  • NVQ / SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or similar
  • LOLER inspection experience or certification
  • Health & Safety training
  • Full UK driving licence (essential) age 30+ for insurance purposes
