We are currently on the hunt for a seasoned Sr. Insurance Accountant to join our rapidly growing client in P&C Insurance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast‑paced environment, where you will oversee the accounting operations of our insurance department, central to our financial record‑keeping and strategic planning.
BasePay Range
$95,000 - $110,000 per year
Responsibilities- Participate in monthly/quarterly statutory reporting and daily insurance accounting.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Work closely with the accounting team to streamline accounting functions and operations.
- Provide insights to management on financial trends and forecasts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree an asset).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a senior accountant, preferably in the insurance industry.
- In‑depth understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance accounting.
- Proficiency in Yellow Book and Statutory reporting.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, closing, reporting).
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.
- Well‑organized with ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
