Fast growing construction firm headquartered in Irving, TX, is seeking a Sr. Accountant who will assist the CFO in overseeing and maintaining high standards of the company’s accounting department including AP / AR, banking operations, corporate accounting, forecasting and other related accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in accounting or business degree with accounting emphasis and have minimum 3-5 years corporate accounting experience preferably in the construction industry.

• B.S. degree in accounting
• 3-5 years corporate accounting experience in construction or related industry
• Audit experience a strong plus
• CPA not required but preferred
• Proficient in Excel and Quick Books
• Exhibit critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Supervisory experience preferred

Ability to work in a fast-growing environment

• Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, job cost allocations, and corporate allocations
• Assist in the monthly close process, including reviewing the Balance Sheet and Income Statement along with providing variance explanations as needed
• Responsible for reporting all state mandated reports, such as, but not limited to, Workers Compensation, Sales Taxes, Payroll Taxes
• Assist in developing and improving the Standard Operating Procedures for the Accounting Department
• Assist with preparation of the Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly closing.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual audits
• Reconcile job cost to general ledger and reconcile month-end accounts receivables and accounts payable
• Prepare the monthly Overhead analysis for all Corporate Overhead departments, providing variance explanations, as needed

Assist the CFO with other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned
