The North American Procurement team manages significant spend across direct and indirect spend categories including commodities, ingredients, packaging, indirect and capital spend in a fast growing and challenging environment. The team is focused on driving productivity and promoting risk mitigation while developing and implementing category strategies. Other initiatives include supporting sustainability and innovation agendas.
The Senior Sourcing Manager - Capital leads the procurement of Capital Spend across the region by providing sourcing and procurement expertise and support for business units across the US and Canada. A key deliverable is working with key stakeholders (engineering, operations and more) to ensure suppliers provide the best price, quality, and service to Grupo Bimbo. This is a fast-paced, detailed orientated, position in which the procurement individual will work with internal stakeholders across North America to create and implement strategic sourcing strategies and drive productivity and efficiency.
You will provide procurement leadership, support, and expertise in the areas of supplier negotiations and contract development for North America. In addition to supporting functional initiatives from a procurement perspective, you will also act as project-leader for cost-savings and cost-avoidance initiatives on behalf of the organizations, targeting annual cost reduction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic procurement leadership of Capital Spend; strong ability to coach and influence others.
- Develop and implement the North America Capital sourcing strategy, covering bakery equipment, packaging machinery, utilities, construction, facilities upgrade, etc.
- Establish multi-year-old sourcing roadmaps that align with corporate capital plans and growth priorities.
- Develop and drive robust category management strategies resulting in tangible benefits to the bottom line and improved risk mitigation. Align closely with stakeholders within Operations Engineering and Facilities. Build strategies by deeply understanding indirect spend categories, analyzing user needs, and identifying potential new supply sources.
- Support the annual Capital Spend planning process, ensuring alignment between project pipelines and sourcing capacity.
- Define sourcing governance standards, approval workflows, and supplier engagement protocols for all capital projects.
- Run transparent tenders, developing multiple diverse sourcing options, and constructing clear business proposals. Strong ability to turn data into insights and actions.
- Develop and implement negotiation strategies. Negotiate purchase agreements with vendors that meet the needs of the business from a commercial and risk management perspective.
- Understand and communicate financial impacts. Manage vendor relationships and appraise vendor performance.
- Partnering with Global Procurement on implementing global strategies to achieve synergies and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Meeting annual cost reduction targets in assigned categories. Identify and monitor cost savings initiatives that are contingent on key stakeholder's participation. Coordinate activities and reporting to keep projects on task.
- Partner with suppliers to bring key innovation to the business.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to influence design and specification decisions that improve lifecycle cost and asset performance.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
Education:
- University degree with a minimum of 7-10 years of procurement work experience, in a fast-paced organization
- Must possess excellent analytical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Team player capable of dealing with many internal and external stakeholders at various levels. Track record of building strong peer and stakeholder relationships
- A highly energetic individual, that can multi-task and prioritize projects based on immediate business need. Experience in project management dealing with tight timelines.
