ANDRES is currently accepting applications for a Safety Manager opening.

Safety Manager Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

- College degree OR 2+ years of construction experience

- OSHA 30-Hour certification required

- Experience with Wood Frame projects preferred

Safety Manager Responsibilities (not limited to):

- Assist the project Superintendents and Project Managers in the development of safe work plans to address working in and around known hazards

- Lead project team in supervision, coordination, and implementation of site-specific safety program and risk assessments

- Prepare and update site-specific safety policy, including project emergency action procedures, work assignments, pre-task planning, personnel administration, and training for emergency contingency plan

- Conduct site-specific orientation training program and implement program for all onsite staff and subcontractors

- Provide for proper start-up of the project regarding proper posting of all jobsite (labor and safety posters, safety signage, etc.)

- Full knowledge and understanding of all local, state, and federal OSHA requirements as well as ANDRES Construction requirements

- Conduct and document safety inspections on project site

- Document and investigate all incidents involving property damage, personal injury, safety violations, near misses, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance activities.

- Accompany OSHA compliance officers and insurance inspectors during on site audits

- Evaluate subcontractor qualifications, training programs, and competency

- Collaborate with ANDRES Construction’s Corporate Safety Director and Regional Safety Managers on the development and implementation of Company safety policies and procedures

- Evaluate project safety performance and provide guidance on trends, corrective actions, and loss rates

- Understand the principles of Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP)

- Facilitate any project specific safety training

- Attend Environmental Safety & Health Departmental meetings

- Set-up new & maintain existing incident report electronically (GL, WC, & Auto)

- Perform all aspects of claims management (i.e. Follow-up on doctor visits, audit progress reports)

- Track incident claim report status & create summary reports

- Basic understanding of Worker’s Compensation Laws and/or processes, as well as insurance forms

- Able to frequently walk the jobsite

- Able to physically negotiate the hazards of a construction work site (i.e. uneven surfaces, floor opening, heights, climbing, etc.)

- Share knowledge (best practices and lessons learned) on the ANDRES Forum
