  • Assign tasks to equipment operators, pipe layers, and laborers based on project requirements.
  • Anticipate potential construction challenges and proactively develop solutions without requiring constant direction from superintendents.
  • Maintain accountability for crew productivity, workmanship, attendance, and overall jobsite performance.

  • Read, interpret, and work directly from civil construction plans, specifications, and utility profiles.

  • Identify discrepancies between construction plans and actual field conditions before installation.
  • Recognize potential utility conflicts and coordinate appropriate solutions to prevent rework and delays.
  • Verify the accuracy of utility layouts and installations without relying solely on outside survey crews.
  • Oversee trench excavation, bedding, pipe installation, back filling, and compaction operations.
  • Ensure proper installation of manholes, valves, fire hydrants, fittings, cleanouts, inlets, junction boxes, and other utility structures.
  • Coordinate utility tie‑ins, shutdowns, and connections to existing infrastructure.
  • Ensure installations meet approved construction plans and applicable specifications.
