Role Description
The Part‑Time Youth Pastor at Ben Washington Baptist Church (BWBC) is responsible for providing spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, and pastoral care to the youth department. This role focuses on developing a Christ‑centered youth ministry that nurtures spiritual growth, discipleship, and active engagement in the life of the church, in alignment with the mission and vision of BWBC.
Responsibilities
- Teach and model biblical principles consistent with Baptist doctrine.
- Lead weekly youth Bible study, discipleship sessions, and youth worship experiences.
- Encourage youth to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual guidance to youth and their families.
- Plan, organize, and lead youth ministry activities, events, and special programs.
- Develop age‑appropriate programming that fosters spiritual, emotional, and social growth.
- Coordinate youth participation in church worship, outreach, and service opportunities.
- Assist in planning retreats, camps, conferences, and mission projects (as budget allows).
- Recruit, train, and supervise youth ministry volunteers.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding youth activities and spiritual development.
- Foster strong partnerships with parents, church leadership, and ministry team.
- Work closely with the Senior Pastor and church leadership to align youth ministry with the overall vision of BWBC.
- Assist in managing the youth ministry budget.
- Maintain accurate attendance, participation records, and communication lists.
- Participate in staff meetings as requested.

- Agreement with the mission, vision, and doctrinal beliefs of Ben Washington Baptist Church.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent ministry experience).
- Previous experience working with youth in a church or ministry setting.
- Strong teaching, communication, and relational skills.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to engage and connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
- Proficiency in basic technology and communication platforms (email, social media, etc.).
