We are currently seeking Traveling Field Controls Technicians
. The right candidate will have excellent technical skills, and is responsible for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting Building Automation Controls and Facility Management Systems per plans and specifications as programmed by the engineering team. Provides detailed information to communicate design to customers, Divcon field installation team and subcontractors. This person must have the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, possess a high degree of integrity, work independently and can analyze a variety of problems.
This position will require travel. We provide per diem, lodging and all travel accommodations.
- Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs; participates in engineering turn over meetings with project field team.
- Troubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and make modifications to existing BMS system.
- Configures operator workstations and all required software.
- Calibrates, configure and perform point‑to‑point verification of controllers, peripherals and power supplies.
- Perform functional testing of the specified sequence of operations to insure proper operation of the controlled electrical or mechanical equipment.
- Communicates with Divcon Controls project management and/or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site and keeps customer informed on progress.
- Reviews customer’s systems and, if needed, points out other areas of improvement and keeps management apprised of customer concerns and issues.
- Participate in 3rd party commissioning of the controlled systems.
- Complete all required commissioning documentation and provides accurate information for as‑builts documentation.
- Performs site specific training for owner/operator on the total system and assists with turnover to service.
- Communicates effectively with the general or mechanical contractor, consultants, architect engineers and other sub‑contractors as required.
- Adheres to safety standards and has a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
- Conducts self‑study (reading, research and practice) to improve technical proficiency (software / hardware) in company’s product lines.
- Ability to communicate technical material to a non‑technical audience.
- Previous experience with computer aided design; strong PC skills desirable.

- 0 - 3 years controls installer or 1 - 2 years working in the HVAC controls industry
- Must be knowledgeable of HVAC systems and must know basic controls strategies for said systems
- Niagara, BACnet and / or Modbus experience preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record as required by the company’s insurance provider
