OverviewJoin our team of leaders in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing, engineering, & training. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced NETA Field Service Technician/Regional EHS Safety Coordinator to join our team. Shermco Industries is accredited by NETA and has one of the largest field services divisions in the industry. Shermco Industries is seeking an EHS Coordinator.
Responsibilities- Responsible for training field service personnel within the applicable region in ESQEQ, Smith Driver Training, and regional specific training.
- Perform jobsite safety audits on field service personnel to insure safe work practices and compliance with Shermco's health and safety policy.
- Prepare for and hose documented quarterly safety meetings (Departmental and Regional).
- Assist in the development, implementation, and oversight of safe work practices.
- Partner with field personnel, local management ream, and regional EHS to develop and maintain a positive safety culture.
- Verifying that standard operating procedures are being utilized and qualifying field personnel.
- Partner with EHS on any accident or incident investigation.
- Prefer Associate's degree from an accredited 2‑year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an EE degree from an ABET accredited college; similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, NAVY Seabee, or Navy conventional/Nuclear EM).
- NETA Certification (III or IV) or similar is desired.
- Must have at least 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- Must have good PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and MS Excel; experience with Power
DB a plus. - Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
- Prefer OSHA 30‑Hour, MSHA, NFPA 70‑E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training; training on each can be provided.
- Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally, and be available for periodic overnight travel.
- Experience in inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, performing start‑up, and collecting data of low, medium, and high voltage (480 V to 600 kV) electrical systems.
- Instrument transformer tests.
- Power transformer testing – Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
- Test both electro‑mechanical and solid‑state relays.
- Cable testing – Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot.
- Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
- Low, medium and high voltage switch gear and circuit breaker testing.
- Moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.
- Must be willing to travel; minimum 40 %.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
PAY RANGE
USD $75,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
