Job Summary

Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting an Engineering Manager to be based in Irving, TX. The role leads the Plant Engineering group, overseeing long‑term planning, development, qualification, and implementation of next‑generation manufacturing processes and automation technologies. The position ensures continuous improvement, supports quality systems, and drives compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Define department and project goals, develop people and talent strategies at the regional level.
  • Provide direction to align and complete projects, proactively developing tactics to achieve program objectives.
  • Demon state strong management and technical skills, bridging technical and business disciplines and assessing associated risks.
  • Lead at group level, providing leadership and consultation to programs and work teams, and track record of developing others.
  • Maintain documented success in achieving business objectives and program goals, with a strong record of regional collaboration and people development.
  • Leverage internal and external expertise to deliver innovative solutions for project or program goals.
  • Partner with Mfg, QA, R&D, and Regulatory to align short‑ and long‑term technological solutions with the business strategy.
  • Manage resources for design, evaluation, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and systems.
  • Advise manufacturing, R&D, and QA management on opportunities and recommend prioritization to support strategic direction.
  • Plan and allocate staff resources, training requirements, and project prioritization; generate and measure development opportunities for direct reports.
  • Support Quality Systems programs through SPC, process software development, validation, and ECO support.
  • Participate with site management in reviewing and approving project schedules, staffing requirements, and cost expectations.
  • Coordinate and direct projects, creating detailed plans and integrating technical activities.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical work performed in the department.
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about performance.
  • Set scientific and technical goals, representing the site as the engineering leader in technology forums and strategic discussions.
  • Prepare and manage the site’s budget for projects, technical resources, facilities, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental practices and all federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  • Demonstrate understanding and application of core GMP fundamentals, including Data Integrity, GMP, and GDP.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience And Education
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in a technical field and/or Engineering Management.
  • 8+ years of related work experience and/or training; advanced degree preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications, Licenses and Affiliations
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with software applications (MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment developing manufacturing standards.
  • Proficient in project management, building credibility within teams and expanding group capabilities.
  • Knowledge of short- and long-term project management.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple commitments and apply technical problem‑solving skills.
  • Flexibility to shift priorities according to departmental or facility needs.
