Position Overview:

Join our team of leaders in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing, engineering, & training. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a New Grad Electrical Engineer – Power Studies, Associate to join our team. Shermco Industries is accredited by NETA and has one of the largest field services divisions in the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical engineering studies, including power factor analysis, harmonic modeling, grounding analysis, short‑circuits, protective device coordination, and arc‑flash studies for domestic and international projects.
  • Provide engineering‑related design, analysis, and studies. Design and troubleshoot protective relaying and controls.
  • Occasionally work with the Field Services team on shutdown, startup, installation, and maintenance projects.
  • Interact with customers to gather critical information, review engineering plans, and maintain professional relationships.
  • Be hands‑on with the engineering and field service group.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with graduation date on or before December 2025. Prefer candidates with an educational focus in Power Systems studies.
  • Willingness to be hands‑on and work in the field alongside our field technicians.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, Easy Power, or other power system modeling software is a plus.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and effectively communicate directly to customers and co‑workers.
