Position Overview

An established power generation organization is seeking two Project Directors to serve as the primary technical points of contact for customers and engineering programs involving gas turbine power generation projects.

This is a remote leadership opportunity for experienced power generation professionals who can manage customer technical relationships, coordinate engineering disciplines, track contractual technical commitments, and communicate project risks. The ideal candidates will have a background in gas turbine projects, engineering leadership, and customer-facing technical program management.

Travel of up to 50% is required for customer meetings, project sites, and equipment refurbishment facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers, owner's engineers, and project stakeholders.

Lead technical meetings, respond to requests for information (RFIs), coordinate submittals, and support design reviews.

Address technical questions within your area of expertise and coordinate with engineering specialists on complex technical issues.

Ensure technical questions and engineering decisions are properly reviewed, documented, and communicated to customers.

Track project technical commitments, including scope, specifications, performance guarantees, and technical change requests.

Identify technical deviations, project risks, and potential contractual exposure, escalating concerns as needed.

Maintain RFI logs, submittal registers, and engineering deliverable tracking systems.

Coordinate communication between engineering teams, project management, operations, and customers.

Ensure engineering commitments have clearly assigned owners and are completed in accordance with project requirements.

Recruit, mentor, and lead Project Engineers supporting assigned programs.

Develop technical risk registers and establish regular customer communication and reporting schedules.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

15+ years of power generation experience, including at least 5 years leading engineers or engineering projects.

Experience serving as a technical lead or owner's engineer on gas turbine projects, including new installations or equipment refurbishment.

Experience managing customer-facing technical correspondence and project requirements involving performance guarantees and contractual obligations.

Strong understanding of engineering coordination, technical documentation, and project risk management.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues and risks to customers and executive leadership.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams.

Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa support.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Experience with GE heavy-duty or aeroderivative gas turbines.

Background with an owner's engineering organization or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm.

Experience supporting data center power generation or behind-the-meter power projects.

Familiarity with contractual technical exhibits, performance requirements, and project change management.

Initial Priorities

During the first 90 days, the Project Directors will assume responsibility for assigned programs, develop technical risk registers, review contractual engineering commitments, confirm accountability for technical deliverables, and establish regular customer communication and reporting processes.

Competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with experience.
