** Job Summary
** Legal tax advisor for broad range of Company state and local income and non-income activities including SALT impacts of corporate development projects, power plant and retail operations, legal, treasury and commercial initiatives and tax minimization efforts for all type of taxes.  SALT tax audit, appeals and litigation advisor for multistate income tax, multistate transaction taxes, state and local property taxes and other miscellaneous taxes.

** Job Description
**** Key Accountabilities*
* • Capable of evaluating wide range of potential corporate activities to identify state income and all non-income tax consequences and advise clients
• Adept at performing high level assessment of due diligence to determine any key tax concerns
• Able to translate complex tax advice into plain language that is actionable for business clients
• Proficient at tax research and concise written documentation
• Strong advocate for tax positions in audits, appeals and litigation
• Knowledgeable of tax procedural rules of controversy
• Capable of selecting and interfacing with outside counsel and other tax consulting advisors as needed
• Effective at training other tax team members on corporate transactions that have been executed and assist with integration and implementation by other tax team members
• Manages multiple projects and prioritizes effectively to achieve maximum business results
** Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements*
* • J.D. (with Tax coursework), LLM preferred, from well-recognized legal and tax legal programs
• Bachelor’s degree, business majors preferred
• Minimum 4-5 years major law firm or Big 4 accounting, with assignments in state income tax and SALT matters required
• Energy sector experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of in-house legal and tax operations useful
** Key Metrics*
* • Timeliness, quality and volume of documentation of tax advice provided
• Number of client relationships and feedback from clients and stakeholders
• Business results from projects (dollar amount of tax positions sustained, financial impact of efficient tax structuring, etc.)
• Number of and quality of formal and informal training provided in the normal course on relevant tax topics and current developments
• Creativity in using tax knowledge to yield Company competitive advantage on taxes
