Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst

Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. (CED), one of the country's largest and fastest‑growing wholesale electrical distribution companies, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Tax Analyst to join its corporate tax group.

Reports to:

Tax Manager

• Assist with multi‑state sales tax compliance
• Assist with sales tax audits
• Prepare inter‑company reconciliations
• Prepare account reconciliations
• Assist with maintenance of in‑house tax systems
• Assist with field responses including research of taxability related to various scenarios
• Assist as needed with business license, unclaimed property, and personal property tax matters
• Research and maintain a working knowledge of state sales & tax developments
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization and provide assistance as needed

• 5+ years of relevant experience in sales and use tax compliance
• Experience in a multi‑state environment required
• Hands‑on experience with Avalara tax engine or Vertex tax engine required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
• Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings as required to meet reporting deadlines
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
• Ability to manage deadlines across multiple jurisdictions are required
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CPA eligible
• Proficiency in Avalara Tax software
• Microsoft Access or SQL database programming experience is a plus
• Database programming skills
