The Programmatic Operations Coordinator is a highly detail-oriented and analytical individual responsible for supporting the operational backbone of Citi's programmatic media investments. This role focuses on the critical areas of billing, financial reconciliation, and ensuring robust governance across programmatic campaigns. With a strong emphasis on accuracy and process, this individual will play a key part in safeguarding Citi’s financial integrity and operational compliance within media.
This position contributes directly to Citi’s media transformation strategy and reports into the Head of Programmatic Media within Citi’s media organization, providing foundational support to Citi’s campaign operations initiatives.
- Financial Reconciliation & Billing: Execute accurate and timely reconciliation of ad tech invoices against delivery reports, purchase orders, and internal financial records. Process billing and payment requests, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Operational Governance & Compliance: Assist in monitoring and enforcing programmatic operational guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, transparency, and adherence to internal and external standards.
- Data Management & Reporting: Collect, organize, and maintain programmatic campaign data, including spend, delivery, and performance metrics. Generate routine operational reports using advanced Excel functions to support financial tracking and internal audits.
- Platform Support & Data Entry: Support the operational setup and maintenance of programmatic campaigns within various platforms, focusing on accurate data entry, campaign naming conventions, and financial tracking parameters.
- Vendor Coordination: Assist in coordinating with programmatic vendors and internal finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies, gather necessary documentation, and ensure smooth financial workflows.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline programmatic operational processes related to billing, reconciliation, and data management, contributing to increased efficiency and accuracy.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of operational processes, billing procedures, and reconciliation steps.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with media strategists, finance, legal, and other internal teams to ensure seamless operational execution and compliance.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- 0-2 years of experience in digital media operations, finance, or a related analytical role, preferably within programmatic advertising.
- Passionate about advertising and marketing and curious about new developments in the industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting) for data manipulation, analysis, and reconciliation.
- Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of billing, invoicing, and reconciliation processes.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple operational tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with programmatic advertising concepts, platforms (DSPs, SSPs), and the digital media ecosystem is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate data anomalies.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and contribute to process improvement.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with financial services processes or systems is a plus.
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
